SBI Uniform Crime Reports

Each year, law enforcement agencies across North Carolina submit information about property crimes and violent offenses to the State Bureau of Investigation. The reports date back to 1990, making them a great tool for identifying long-range crime trends in different communities. Click here to read the most recent reports.

Point-in-Time Count Results

The annual Point-in-Time Count is designed to provide a statistical snapshot of homeless populations in participating counties. The results are published each year by the North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness. Click here to see the most recent results. 

Drinking Water Database

This database collects contaminate violation notices and other useful information about water systems across North Carolina. Click here to explore the database.

Adult Care Facility Records 

The state Department of Health and Human Services offers a searchable database of inspection results and violation notices for nursing homes. This is a great resource for investigating allegations of elder abuse and other issues at senior living facilities. Click here to explore the database.

State Employment Reports 

Comprehensive reports about joblessness, income and unemployment benefits are compiled each quarter by the state Department of Commerce. The reports include statistics for each of the state’s 100 counties. Click here to read the most recent reports.

Digital N.C. Archive

Managed by the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center, this online trove boasts high-resolution scans of more than 120,000 newspapers, 13,000 yearbooks and 8,000 pieces of memorabilia.
